So I have a plush of Applejack and Derpy sitting on the top of my wardrobe. Al put his glasses on the AJ, and it gave me the idea to draw this. XD

Science.

I can’t tell what my favorite part is, but it’s either
scientists wasting budget and time to see if ants count their steps
the idea to put ants on stilts
there had to be a guy who made ant stilts and put them on the ants
confused ants

Well first off, the wording in this is slightly misleading, ants don’t count their steps, rather it’s believed that they estimate how far they’ve travelled based on their stride length (x). Furthermore, how is it a waste of time? They’re studying a key component in an organism, giving us a greater understanding of why it behaves the way it does. Honestly that’s just insulting to the scientists who performed and found the results in this study. The hypothesis of ants using an internal pedometer was proposed way back in 1904 and had been untested until now, and I think it’s pretty great how they finally have tested it.So yeah, don’t be a jerk to people who just want to expand our knowledge.
